PATRIOT RAIL CORP. ENTERS EXCLUSIVE COMMUNICATION TOWER AGREEMENT WITH SBA COMMUNICATIONS

Boca Raton, FL - Patriot Rail Corp. (“Patriot”), a short line and regional freight railroad holding company, today announced that it has entered into an exclusive three-year agreement with SBA Communications Corporation (“SBA”) (Nasdaq: SBAC) to identify sites and build communication towers on railroad property owned by Patriot.  SBA is a leading independent owner and operator of wireless communications infrastructure in the United States.

The agreement calls for SBA to construct, own and operate new code-compliant multi-tenant communication towers on property owned by Patriot, as well as on any future rights-of-way acquired by Patriot.  Site management and marketing services for the deployment and collocation of wireless communications infrastructure will be handled by SBA’s subsidiary, AAT Communications, LLC.  Patriot, which has final approval of proposed plans and locations of new towers on its property, also has the option of developing similar opportunities with other short line railroad operators.  Presently, Patriot has approximately 212 miles of railroad rights-of-way available for the construction of new tower sites.
