The Tennessee Southern Railroad (“TSRR”) operates a total of 149 miles (including 118 main line miles) of rail line running from Columbia, Tennessee (46 miles south of Nashville, Tennessee), to Pulaski, Tennessee, and from Columbia, Tennessee, to Florence, Alabama. Of the 118 main line miles, approximately 109 miles of the TSRR are located in Lawrence, Giles and Maury Counties in middle Tennessee, while the remaining 9 miles are located in Lauderdale County in northwest Alabama. The TSRR interchanges with Class I carrier CSX Transportation at Natco, Tennessee.
TSRR also provides intermodal services between the railroad, river barges and trucks at its port facilities located in Florence, Alabama, at the Port of Florence. The Port of Florence is strategically located on the Tennessee River. In addition, TSRR has the ability to transload products between rail cars and trucks at its cross-dock facility located in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.

History:
The Tennessee Southern Railroad began operation on former Norfolk Southern track in Florence, Alabama in July of 1988. In February 1989, TSRR commenced operation on the former CSX Transportation track running from just north of Columbia, TN, to Pulaski, TN, on the former Nashville & Decatur line, and from Columbia, TN, to Florence, AL on the former Nashville, Florence & Sheffield line. Although the TSRR came into existence in 1988, its heritage dates back to 1879.
