History:
UCRY began operations as a short line rail operator in 1992 on former Union Pacific (UP) Railroad track. The railroad provided service to a grain storage facility situated in the Rio Grande's former West Yard and switched rail cars for Westinghouse Electric at their Western Zirconium plant at Little Mountain. In 2001, UCRY leased from UP the former D&RGW Transfer Yard, UP's Evona Industrial Lead, and the connecting Sugar Works Spur. In 2004, UCRY received Surface Transportation Board approval to provide exclusive switching services over 15 miles of track located within the Business Depot Ogden industrial park. Although UCRY came into existence in 1992, its heritage dates back to 1869.
